DUBLIN HORSE SHOW KICKS OFF WITH STAR-STUDDED ENTRY LIST

A FORMIDABLE list of international riders has been confirmed for this week’s Discover Ireland Dublin Horse Show at the RDS, including the eight teams who will do battle in Friday’s Furusiyya Nations Cup competition for the Aga Khan Trophy
Six of the top ten riders in the world will be in action at the RDS in Ballsbridge from Wednesday to Sunday of this week, including all three top ranked riders on the latest Longines World Jumping list.
World number one Scott Brash and fellow Britain Ben Maher at number two, are joined by German superstar and four time Olympic Gold Medalist Ludger Beerbaum, who currently lies third on the world rankings.
Fellow world top ten ranked Kent Farrington (USA), Daniel Deusser (GER) and Bezzie Madden (USA), will also grace the famous Dublin turf, along with rock legend Bruce Springsteen’s daughter Jessica, who is part of a strong-looking American team
The list of Irish competitors includes Aga Khan squad members Denis Lynch, Cian O’Connor, Dermott Lennon and Darragh Kenny, along with rising star Bertram Allen from Co Wexford, who is by far the youngest member of the Nations Cup squads at just 19 years of age.The show will also host the Horse Sport Ireland Three Year-Old Loose Performance Final, as well as the HSI Four Year-Old, Five Year-Old and Six Year-Old Championships.

Irish show jumping manager Robert Splaine has made a change to the squad from which he will choose his team to compete at the Aga Khan Trophy competition at the Discover Ireland Dublin Horse Show on Friday.

The squad will now be, in alphabetical order:

Cian O’Connor/Quidam’s Cherie

Darragh Kenny will replace Billy Twomey on the squad for the Dublin Nations’ Cup.
