Enhanced Goresbridge October Catalogue

The sale of broodmares, foals & yearlings will take place at Goresbridge, Co. Kilkenny, on the 6^th, 7^th and 8^th of October. With over 420 lots, there is a wide variety of bloodlines on offer.

In an effort to provide additional information to prospective buyers, and to further market the vendor’s offerings, Horse Sport Ireland has provided three generation pedigrees for each foal in this October’s sale. Most foals on sale have had their pedigree verified by HSI through DNA testing at the time of the catalogue going to print. All horses registered on the Irish Horse Register since 2004 have had their parentage verified by DNA testing. Other foals may have applications lodged but would not yet have had their DNA test completed, or they may have applied to be registered in another studbook. In such cases, these foals have been marked in the catalogue ‘Pedigree subject to DNA Verification by HSI’. Many of these foals may have their pedigree verified by DNA since the catalogue went to print – an updated list will be available from the Goresbridge office during the sale.

For 2016 there is also a select foal section featuring 15 pre-selected colts and fillies. This section will take place on the Saturday of the sale after the first 19 lots have passed through the ring. With some top performance families represented the lots also include offspring of the top three World Breeding Federation for Sport Horses (WBFSH) Show Jumping Sires; Diamant De Semilly (1st), Kannan (2nd) and Cornet Obolensky (3rd).
