Eventing: Ireland Finish Third in Eventing Nations Cup.

The Irish Nations Cup team consisting of Jonty Evans riding Double Dutch V, Padraig McCarthy riding Simon Porloe and Fraser Duffy riding Primus finished in third place . Padraig and Jonty made their 2014 debut for Ireland on the Nations Cup Team with Fraser Duffy and the Carol Gee owned Primus having competed in Aachen previously this year.

 

Lying in 5th place after Dressage and Showjumping the Irish trio moved up to third place after the Cross Country phase. All three combinations produces clear rounds just picking up minimal time penalties.

 

An in-form German team reigned supreme at Waregem (BEL), the eighth and penultimate competition in the FEI Nations Cup™ Eventing 2014. They scored a fifth successive victory in the series and have now extended their lead to 10 points over Great Britain, who finished second at Belgium’s premier event.

 

Padraig McCarthy riding Christopher and Sarita Perkins’s Simon Porloe finished best of the Irish in 10th place individually, followed by Fraser Duffy riding Primus finishing in 17th place individually and Jonty Evans riding his own Double Dutch V finished in 25th individually.
