JAYNE Doherty ended as best of the Irish in the CIC three-star Section C at Hartpury, England this evening (Sunday) jumping six places from her overnight 15th place to finish in ninth on the Irish-bred 'The Only One'. Not far behind in 14th was Michael Ryan with another Irish-bred gelding, 'Ballylynch Adventure', while Capt. Geoff Curran brought Maurice Cassidy and the Minister for Defence's 'The Jump Jet" into 17th overall.
The class was won by Britain's Piggy French and 'Jakata'.
In the three-star Section D Pip Peters took 21st place on 'Upward Trend', while in the two-star Patricia Ryan finished in 12th with 'Ballylynch Wizard', with Rory O'Hare and Irish-bred 'Political Diamond' in 15th, and Michael Ryan in 16th on the Irish-bred 'Dromgurrihy Blue'.
In the CIC one-star Steven Smith and the Sea Crest gelding 'Sea Dancer' finished in 13th, with Camilla Speirs and the Cavalier Royale gelding 'Cavalier Clover Boy' in 14th and Katie O'Sullivan with 'A Bit Of Sportsfiled' in 17th.
