HORSE Sport Ireland has confirmed the Pony Eventing squad for the 2011 European Championships in Jaskowo, Poland from July 26th until 31st.The Pony Eventing squad in alphabetical order is:Daniel Brown; Silver Fox IIIMeghan Hatherell; Newtown WestieLucy Latta; NonoAna O’Brien; Ice Cool BaileyJodie O’Keeffe; Castleview Rakish MillyJoshua Pim; Mr. OttoThe two non travelling reserve riders will be selected after Monart on 26th June 2011.Team Ireland Equestrian’s Pony Eventing High Performance Coach Sue Shortt said that the standard of performance from our ponies has improved every year and this year we have selected six combinations that are hugely talented and, on their form to date, are very capable of finishing in the top 15 individually at the European Championships.“Three of these riders were selected in our new performance based selection system, while the other three riders were given wildcards. I am very happy the way it worked out and the new selection system should help to prepare the riders better to deal with the pressures involved in competing at the championships,” she said.
