IRELAND'S Joseph Murphy finished eighth overall this evening (Wednesday) at the Olympic Test Event in Greenwich, London after a remarkable double clear round in the final show jumping phase.
The Mullingar-born rider, aboard Trevor Badger and James Acheson's 'Chuckelberry', moved up from 26th place after dressage to hold overnight 18th on Tuesday after a clear cross country round in the optimum time.
Today's zero score over two rounds of show jumping catapulted the 35 year-old to eighth place at the finish.
Ireland's other competitor at Greenwich, Jayne Doherty and Rutledge Recruitment & Training's Irish-bred 'The Only One', finished in 22nd place.
The two-star Test Event, which is held as part of the preparations for the 2012 Olympics, saw Britain's Piggy French take the winner's trophy with 'DHI Topper'.
