TATTERSALLS Ireland today (Friday) announced the sponsors for the 2011 Tattersalls International Horse Trials and Country Fair in association with Horse Sport Ireland taking place 26-29 May 2011.
Said George Mernagh, Managing Director of Tattersalls Ireland, “I am delighted that so many organisations that have supported us down the years are joining us once more in this exciting venture. It is a credit to the team at Tattersalls that despite the difficult economic times, our sponsors as well as riders and owners are supporting this event so strongly, and that Horse Sport Ireland plays such an active role in helping to promote the event.”
Tattersalls has gone up yet another league this year with the new CCI*** class which is sponsored by The Irish Field. Said Leo Powell, Managing Editor of The Irish Field, “This event has established itself in a short space of time as one of the best on the international scene. The Irish Field is thrilled to be associated with it again, but this time as a sponsor of one of the major classes. We are deeply committed to the sport horse sector and our Horse World editor Sascha Geraghty and team produce a world-class publication each Saturday. This sponsorship is therefore a perfect fit for us and we look forward also to working closely with George Mernagh and his team to promote this event as media partners.”
The Tattersalls Ireland Event Horse Sale which take place 1-2 October 2011 is in George Mernagh’s view a natural fit for the CIC*** class. “It is important that Ireland is able to host classes at this level so that competitors have the opportunity to gain points towards Olympic qualification for 2012. The Tattersalls Ireland Event Horse Sale aims to produce top quality horses for purchasers and it is fitting that it should sponsor this class”.
Rookery Park Stud sponsors both the CCI* and CCI** once again. Catherine Witt of Rookery Park Stud who is a great supporter of Irish bred horses and hopes to have a number of horses at the event this year, said, “Having an event of the calibre of Tattersalls on the international circuit taking place in Ireland is wonderful. It provides the opportunity for Irish horses to get valuable mileage and also for Irish riders to compete at the highest level on their home ground”.
The younger riders are provided for at Tattersalls through the support of Eventing Ireland who sponsor the Under 25 class, Dunboyne Castle Hotel and Spa who are generously supporting the CCNP (Pony class) again this year. For the first time the Tattersalls Ireland Autumn Festival of Eventing sponsors the Junior class.
