TATTERSALLS ANNOUNCE ENTRIES FOR 2011 EVENT

(05 May 2011)

ENTRIES were announced today (Thursday) for the Tattersalls International Horse Trials in association with Horse Sport Ireland taking place May 26-29 2011 at the Tattersalls Ireland complex in Co Meath. At close of entries some 290 horses and riders are now competing in this event.

Said George Mernagh, Managing Director of Tattersalls Ireland which hosts the event at its superb facilities in Ratoath, Co Meath: “We are delighted to have such a strong entry for this year’s event. We appreciate how difficult it is for owners and competitors in these stringent times so it is fantastic to have so many coming to Tattersalls and we look forward to welcoming them to the event.”

Tattersalls is hosting no less than seven classes over the weekend, including The Irish Field CCI***, the Tattersalls Ireland Event Horse Sale CIC***, the Rookery Park sponsored CCI** and CCI*, The Eventing Ireland sponsored Under 25 class, the Tattersalls Ireland Autumn Festival of Eventing Junior class, and the Dunboyne Castle Pony class.

The world’s top international riders will be at the event, many of them with multiple rides, including New Zealand’s Andrew Nicholson. “I am not surprised that so many of the top riders return to Tattersalls year after year. The event is well organised, and the facilities are second to none,” he said.

Fresh from his win with The Jump Jet in the international three star event at Ballindenisk last weekend, Ireland’s Captain Geoff Curran said: “I was thrilled with The Jump Jet’s performance at Ballindenisk, especially after the disappointment of missing Badminton at the last minute and I am really lucky to have such a good horse to take to Tattersalls. It has always been one of my favourite events, and I am looking forward to seeing Ian Stark’s new course”.
