A TOTAL of 31 Irish eventing riders will compete at one, two and three star level in Hartpury, Great Britain this weekend, one of the largest contingents seen at a British event this season. And two other eventing riders, Julie O’Neill and Stephanie Kidney, will fly the Irish flag at the one-star event in Sandillon in France.
Five star show jumping is also a feature of this weekend's equestrian action, with Jessica Kurten and Denis Lynch competing at Valkenswaard in the Netherlands, where Saturday's Global Champions' Tour Grand Prix has 285,000 euro on offer in prize money. Co. Down's Conor Swail will also campaign two horses at two-star level at the Dutch venue.
Three-star dressage at Vidabaun in France sees Anna Merveldt as the sole Irish competitor, while five Irish riders head to Moorsele in Belgium for pony and Junior show jumping.
