COMDT Brian Mac Sweeney has stepped down as the Team Manager/Chef d’Equipe for the Team Ireland Equestrian Junior and Young Rider eventing teams due to increased work and family commitments. Horse Sport Ireland Chief Executive Damian McDonald said that he was disappointed that Brian could not continue in the role for 2011. “Brian did an excellent job as Chef d’Equipe for the junior and young rider eventing teams, the highlight of which was the juniors winning a team silver medal in the European championships in 2008. He is a person of the highest integrity and he carried out the role in an efficient and professional manner at all times,” he said.
