MECHELEN IS FINAL FIVE STAR SHOW OF 2010

(26 Dec 2010)

WITH Christmas barely over, five-star show jumping recommences at Mechelen in Belgium this evening (Sunday), with three of Ireland's top riders battling for prize money and World Cup points.

Cameron Hanley is the selected Irish rider for the show, but Jessica Kurten and Denis Lynch are also there by personal invitation due to their high world rankings.

Hanley lines out with three horses, while Lynch and Kurten field four apiece, Kurten bringing her top ride 'Castle Forbes Libertina' and Lynch campaigning 'Lantinus'.

The highlight of the show will be Thursday night's Rolex FEI World Cup Qualifier, with a car and 100,000 euro available in prize money, but Wednesday's Grand Prix also sees 50,000 euro up for grabs.

Tonight Mechelen opens with the popular Puissance competition, which, like the other classes at the show, can be accessed live through www.feitv.org
