THE Irish team has been selected for the World University Equestrian Championships taking place from the 28th of October to the 3rd of November in Sangju, South Korea:

Suzie Cave - travelling reserve (Open University)

Nicola was the Irish Senior National Champion in 2009 and has numerous Grand Prix wins to her credit this year. She is now a regular campainer on the international circuit and is travelling to Calgary to compete in the Nations Cup next month. She recently competed in the RDS Horse Show with much success and is one of showjumpings brightest stars of the future.

Sara is an eventer from the internationally recognised Killossery Stud in Swords, Co. Dublin. She is a top class jockey with numerous wins to her name including Overall Individual Bronze and Overall Team Gold at the SRNC in Leuven, Belgium back in April and Individual Silver and Team Bronze in dressage at the SRNC in London, Ontario, Canada this July. She is also the reigning National University Individual Dressage Champion.

Ben is, of course, the reigning World Individual University Showjumping Champion. He too is from a highly successful equestrian family based in Larne outside Belfast. Riding for his brother Stuart for the past two years, Ben has branched out into racing and was the second highest winning point to point jockey in Ireland last year.

Suzie is a highly successful show jumper also hailing from Belfast. With numerous placings on the 1.30m circuit this year, she won Overall Individual Gold and Overall Team Gold at the SRNC Leuven, Belgium back in April of this year. Suzie has also won the National Equestrian Univeristy Individual Title twice and was a team member at the previous WUEC in Algeria in 2008.
