HSI Sport Horse Foal Qualifier Results from Newcastle West Show

The Sport Horse Foal Championship aims to identify, evaluate and reward breeders who have bred a foal that has the potential to be competitive at the highest International level in the disciplines of Show Jumping or eventing.

The region 3 HSI sport horse foal qualifier took place on Sunday 16^th July at Newcastlewest Show. The show jumping qualifier which was judged by Tiernan Gill and Michael Duignan and the Eventing qualifier was judged by Janet Murray and George Chapman.

Show Jumping Foals
The colt section was won by Andries de Bont with a colt by I’m Special De Muze (BWP) out of Wulfin (KWPN)  by Voltaire (HANN). The reserve was awarded to Michael Keane’s colt foal by Tyson (KWPN) out of Ringwood Poppet (ISH) by Ringwood Harley Carol (ISH).

The show jumping filly section was won by PJ Lehane with a filly by Womaniser (KWPN) out of PJS Delight (ISH) by Lux Z (HANN). The reserve show jumping filly went to John Lee foal by Yeats (ISH) out of Carrabawn Z (ISH) by Ricardo Z (ZANG).

Eventing Foals
The colt section was won by Kieran O’Gorman with a colt by Munther (TB) out of Brookfield Miss Lux (ISH) by Lux Z (HANN). The reserve was awarded to Deirdre Connolly’s colt foal by Cormint (HOLST) out of Monicas Dream (ISH) by Maltstriker (KWPN).

The eventing filly section was won by Jane and John Joe Grace with a filly by Rosheen Yeats (ID) out of Ballaghmore Storm (ISH) by Farlow (HESS). The reserve eventing filly went to Mark Hession’s foal by Sandro Boy (OLD) out of Cruising Pearl (ISH) by Cruising (ISH).
