Irish showjumpers travel to Hickstead (GBR) this weekend, where the world famous Hickstead Derby will take place on Sunday at 14.30 GMT. It is the only class in which riders take on the front descent of the 10ft 6in Hickstead Derby Bank and Ireland’s Trevor Breen will be hoping to achieve a hat trick, having won the Derby in both 2014 and 2015. Elsewhere on the showjumping circuit, action takes place at Rotterdam (NED), Monte Carlo (MON), Olomouc (CZE), Bonheiden (BEL) and Kronenberg (NED).

In other international disciplines this weekend, the Irish flag will fly in dressage at Rotterdam (NED), in endurance at Lignieres (FRA) and in driving at Sandringham (GBR). In total, over 100 entries have been made for Irish international riders this weekend, which represents 40 different riders competing in six different countries. At the half way point through 2016, in excess of 3,800 entries have been made for Irish riders competing at FEI shows.
