HSI are proud to announce the sponsorship of the 2017 Young Event Horse Series (YES!), formerly the Future Event Horse League (FEHL).  The Objectives of the Young Event Horse Series are the pursuit of excellence in the identification, production and promotion of the best Irish-bred horses which might, in the future, continue to contribute to the success of the Irish Sport Horse on the world stage in the sport of Eventing.

There are four qualifiers for the Young Event Horse Series held throughout the country in June for 4 and 5 year old horses. The Series finals will take place at the Dublin Horse Show in August.  HSI are providing a total of €18,000 to the 2017 Series which will be allocated in prize money for the qualifiers and the 4 year old final. Prizemoney for the qualifiers will be divided between breeders, owners and riders in each of the age categories. The series has produced 4* event horses such as Paulank Brockagh (ISH) winner of 2014 Badminton CCI4* Horse Trials who was campaigned in the series in 2007 and 2008. The series also produced the winner of the Rolex Kentucky CCI4* in 2014, Bay My Hero, who competed in the series as 4 year old in the 2007 FEHL season, finishing in third place in the Final. 2016 Olympic bronze medallist Might Nice (ISH) is another graduate of the series who competed in 2008 and 2009.

Commenting on the sponsorship Alison Corbally, HSI Director of Breeding and Programmes stated “It is wonderful to re-establish our relationship with the Young Event Horse Series, formerly the FEHL.  This Series has an impressive track record and has clearly demonstrated its success in producing young event horses to FEI international level. From 2006 to 2010 almost 39% of the horses that competed in the Series 2006-2010 progressed to International level in eventing competitions, of these 19% went on to CCI3* competitions or better.  We would like to wish the organisers, competitors, owners and breeders the best of luck with this year’s events.’
