Team Training before the European Championshils in HARAS DE JARDY 13-18 JULY Coilog 28th & 29th and Wednesday July 7th in the Army Equitation School
Comdt John Ledingham will be using these training days to fine tune your team horses only, and will have championship style courses purpose built so lines can be practised and rehearsed.
For any of you who would like to stable on Monday night, Please contact Coilog yourselves, to book a stable, the cost will unfortunatly be at your own expense.

Training is booked for Monday 28th in the afternoon - evening and Tuesday 29th morning. Heather Coyle will be on site on Tuesday morning to help with any queries.
Training on Wednesday the 7th July will be held by kind permission of the Army Equitation School.
Junior/Young Rider European Championships Accomodation
Horse Sport Ireland have prebooked rooms for athletes participating at the Championships. The Team Hotel is Novotel Chateau de Versailles . We have been notified there is now a waiting list for accomodation in the team hotel but an altenative list has been distributed by Heather .

Participation Criteria
A person may compete as a Junior from the beginning of the calendar year in which he reaches the age of 14 until the end of the year in which he reaches the age of 18.
A person may compete as a Young Rider from the beginning of the calendar year in which he reaches the age of 16 until the end of the calendar year in which he reaches the age of 21.

All riders entered for Wales & West MUST have temporary registration with British Show Jumping
To become a temporary visiting member of British Show Jumping you need to complete a membership form and tick the visiting category. Membership forms can be downloaded from www.britishshowjumping.co.uk/membership/how-to-join Fee for all horses/ponies is £10. Wales & West Schedule & Entry Forms Now Available
See Wales & West Webpage for schedule, entry form and timetable. There will be a 10% discount on entries & stabling if payment is received at least two weeks prior to the first day of the show (Wed 14th April). Entries close Wed 21st April. Early booking is advised if you wish to be allocated stables close to the arena. Junior & Young Rider Show Jumping High Performance Training Dates 2010
- 18th February : Mullingar Equestrian Centre. Times: 10am-6pm
- 24th March: Portmore Equestrian Centre, Aghalee, Craigavon. N. Ireland. Times: 5-9pm
- 31st March: Coilog Equestrian Centre, Kilmeague, Co. Kildare. Times: 10am-6pm
- 15th May: Army Equitation School & Bursary Selection. This training will be for squad members only and only by invitation
Please note the Portmore training has been added to facilitate the Ulster Region Riders who have their spring training bursary on the 31st March. However this training day is not limited to Ulster Region riders only and is open to all.
HSI Team Manager Comdt Ledingham would like all participants in the High Performance Programme to make themselves available on these dates for training. Riders interested in attending must register with Susann Killilea on Email: skillilea@horsesportireland.ie or Tel: 045-854507with their details before Friday 19th March.
If you are not already on the High Performance programme and are interested in becoming part of it, please fill in the attached Questionnaire with your details and post back to High Performance Coordinator Heather Coyle asap.
Chippison Spring Tour
The High Performance Committee strongly encourage Juniors & Young Riders to compete in the 1.35m Chippison League. Comdt. John Ledingham will be attending the following shows to coach/view
- 21st March - HSI Chippison Spring Tour, Maryville
- 28th March - HSI Chippison Spring Tour, Cavan
- 4th April - HSI Chippison Spring Tour, Barnadown
- 11th April - HSI Chippison Spring Tour, Clare Equestrian Centre
- Results will be noted from all the Chippison Leagues.
The long list squad for the Junior & Young Rider teams will be named on the 12th April.
Wales & West 29th April - 3rd May
All squad members are strongly advised to make themselves available for Wales & West 29th April - 3rd May. There will two opportunities to achieve the compulsory FEI certificate of competence at Wales & West.
We are considering attending the following two nation cups shows where there will be further opportunites to gain the compulsory FEI certificate of competence.
- 21st - 23rd May at Bonheiden (Belgium) CSIOCH, CSIJ, CSIY
- 28th -30th May at Reims (France) CSIOJY
- 3rd - 6th June at Wierden (Holland) CSIOJY (Only if riders still need qualification)
- 20th June is the final date to have achieved the compulsory certificate of competence.
Juniors & Young Rider Based Outside of Ireland
Any Juniors/Young Riders who are based outside of Ireland and are interested in becoming part of the High Performance Programme should contact Team Manager Comdt John Ledingham asap and also fill in the attached Questionnaire with your details and post back to High Performance Coordinator Heather Coyle.
Junior/Young Rider European Championships
The Junior/Young Rider European championships will take place in Jardy, France this year from 13th to 18th July. This year these Championships are taking place at the same time as the Children on Horses Championships.
