Junior/Pony Dressage Training/Assessment Days

Please be advised that High Performance Manager Anne Marie Dunphy will hold Pony and Junior Dressage High Performance assessment and training days at Spruce Lodge Equestrian Training Facility on Monday 26th and Tuesday 27th October 2015.

 

Pony Dressage High Performance selection criteria is as follows:

Qualifying criteria for inclusion on the Horse Sport Ireland HP Pony Dressage Squad is based on the current level that an athlete is training and competing in the current year. For 2016, HP Pony Dressage will comprise of a High Performance Squad and a High Performance Development Squad.

High Performance Squad – Athletes who have achieved 65% plus nationally in medium level tests and/or FEI Pony tests and are either competing at or aiming shortly for pony international level.

High Performance Development Squad – Athletes training and competing at novice and elementary levels and working towards medium level with a view to progressing to international level. Athletes must produce two scores of 60%-65% or more at medium Level to progress to the High Performance Squad.

 

Junior Dressage High Performance selection criteria as follows:

Qualifying criteria for inclusion on the Horse Sport Ireland HP Junior Dressage Squad is based on the current level that an athlete is training and competing in the current year. For 2016, HP Junior Dressage will comprise of a High Performance Squad Athletes training and competing nationally at advanced medium/junior level and are either competing at or aiming shortly for junior international level.

All squad athletes will receive subsidised coaching and mentoring from the High Performance manager and will be monitored throughout the season. Athletes must be aware that they will be moved up, down or off the squad lists based on their results in 2016 and at the discretion of the High Performance Manager. To remain on the squad athletes must show commitment, for example, the commitment of the rider and their support team to the High Performance Programme where combinations may be asked to compete at a specified competition, attend for training or be required to present their horse for veterinary assessment.

 

Athletes must be members of and ponies/horses registered with Dressage Ireland.

There will be a €30 training fee per pony/horse.

Anyone fitting the selection criteria and wanting to take part in the assessment/training days please fill out the expression of interest form and send it back to Susann Killilea in Horse Sport Ireland via mail: skillilea@horsesportireland.ie by Wednesday, 21th of October, 12noon the latest.
