Irish Sport Horse, Lenamore (ISH), at 19 years of age finished in fourth place at Burghley Horse Trials over the weekend. After an impressive dressage score of 42.8, Lenamore (ISH) went clear cross-country and was unlucky to have two fences down in the showjumping phase. His performance in the CCI 4* at Burghley, one of only five 4* events in the world, earned him £15,000 in prize money.
The veteran eventer, campaigned by New Zealand’s Caroline Powell, has now broken the record for career British Eventing points. Lenamore (ISH) has now racked up 2,203 career points and has just passed another Irish Sport Horse, Spring Along, for the most all-time points.
Six Irish Sport Horses finished in the top twenty at Burghley. Full results, including breeding information, are detailed below.
