Irish Sport Horses enjoyed success on the international showjumping circuit over the weekend. At the 5 star show in Oslo, the Billy bred horses were on form. Billy Buttercup (ISH) and Victoria Gulliksen (NOR) were victorious in the €14,000 1m40 class and placed in two further classes. Britain's William Funnell and Billy Grand (ISH) took second place in the €30,000 Winning Round class, while Billy Owen (ISH) and Victoria Gulliksen (NOR) finished in fourth place in the Puissance.
Tipperary's Trevor Breen, from Cashel, and the Cruising stallion, Oldtown KC (ISH), took the 7 Year Old National Championship title at the Horse of the Year Show in Birmingham last week. Bred by Martin Coffey, from Templemore, Co. Tipperary, and owned by Martin & Paschal Coffey, the chestnut stallion was the fastest of three double clears in the Championship jump-off.

At the Horse of the Year Show in Birmingham, Britain's William Funnell and Billy Grand (ISH) were victorious in the Five Fence Challenge class and were placed in a second class. At the same show, Shane Breen (IRL) and Cos I Can (ISH) were placed in two classes. At Tetouan, Morocco, Laura Renwick (GBR) and Roller Coaster (ISH) were in the prize money after placing in two 1m45 classes.
Irish Sport Horse swept the boards at the Ballindenisk International Horse Trials, which took place over the weekend, in Watergrasshill, Co. Cork. Taking the big class at the event, the Johnson & Perrott Land Rover CCI 3*, were Ireland's Declan Cullen and the Irish Sport Horse Glenhill Gold. Out of the top twenty horses in the CCI 3*, twelve of them were Irish Sport Horses - a results reflected across all the other classes at the event.

At Madrid, Spain, Spanish rider Alfonso Arango Lasaosa was placed in three classes with the stallion Ardnehue Flight (ISH). In La Bagnaia, Italy, Laura Renwick (GBR) and Roller Coaster were victorious in the Grand Prix qualifier class, while at the same show Ireland’s Thomas Ryan and Cruise On Clover (ISH) finished in tenth place in Sunday’s Grand Prix.
Irish Sport Horse, Lenamore (ISH), at 19 years of age finished in fourth place at Burghley Horse Trials over the weekend. After an impressive dressage score of 42.8, Lenamore (ISH) went clear cross-country and was unlucky to have two fences down in the showjumping phase. His performance in the CCI 4* at Burghley, one of only five 4* events in the world, earned him £15,000 in prize money.
