The Grand Finals of the Irish Sport Horse Studbook Showjumping Series 2011 will take place this Saturday, 23rd July, at the Tattersalls Ward Union Hunt Show in Ratoath, Co. Meath. There will be €15,500 in prize money on offer, including League and breeders' prize, for the final leg of this prestigious series.
The first Championship in the Horse Sport Ireland National Showing Championship Series, in association with the Irish Shows Association, will take place at Bannow & Rathangan Show this Thursday, 14th July. Irish Sport Horses enjoyed success on the international showjumping circuit over the weekend. In Wettenhall (GBR), Captain David O'Brien (IRL) and Mo Chroi (ISH) took top spot in Saturday's Accumulator. At Spruce Meadows (CAN), American rider, Rich Fellers, was victorious in the FEI World Cup Grand Prix with Flexible (ISH).
19/06/11 TIPPERARY native, Greg Broderick, on board Dr Noel Cawley’s stallion, Castellar (ISH), stormed to victory in the 6/7 Year Old Final at Galway County Show. This weekend’s classes at Galway were the fifth leg in the Irish Sport Horse Studbook Showjumping Series 2011 and Broderick’s win today (Sunday) scored him his third victory in a 6/7 Year Old Final in this year’s Series.
Irish Sport Horses clocked up a string of victories and placings on the international showjumping circuit last week. In Portimao, Portugal, Irish Sport Horses were in the prize money in eight of the twelve international classes. In Sunday's Grand Prix, Marion Hughes (IRL) and Heritage HHS Fortuna (ISH) finished in second place.
