Irish Sport Horses enjoyed success on the international showjumping circuit over the weekend. At St Gallen, Tim Stockdale (GBR) and Fresh Direct Kalico Bay (ISH) were part of the British team that took second place in the FEI 5* Nations Cup. At the same show Rich Fellers (ISH) and the Cruising stallion Flexible (ISH) were second in the €247,000 Grand Prix.

In Lisbon, Portugal, Marion Hughes (IRL) and Heritage HHS Fortuna (ISH) finished in ninth place in the Grand Prix. Over in Norten Hardenberg in Germany, Britain's Tim Stockdale took twelfth place in the Grand Prix with Fresh Direct Kalico Bay (ISH).
Ireland won its second Nations Cup in a week when claiming victory at Copenhagen in Denmark on Friday afternoon. Capt. David O’Brien, Alexander Butler, Jennifer Crooks and Dermott Lennon lined out for Ireland, beating 14 other nations to the trophy. Two Irish-bred horses were part of the victorious Irish team, with Capt. David O'Brien aboard Annestown (ISH) [Royal Concorde x Annestown Cavalier, by Cavalier Royale] and Alexander Butler riding Will Wimble (ISH) [Touchdown x The Woolsack].
IRISH Sport Horses produced some fantastic performances at numerous events throughout the UK and USA last weekend, including the CCI3* and the CIC3* at Jersey Fresh Horse Trails New Jersey (USA).
LAST Friday saw the Irish show jumping team taking top spot in the La Baule Nations Cup, the first of the Superleague Series of Nations Cups for 2011. Larkhill Cruiser (ISH) and Cian O’Connor were part of victorious Irish team, who beat the world’s other seven best teams at the French venue.
