Irish Sport Horses had good results on the international showjumping circuit over the weekend. In Hagen, Germany, Shane Breen was placed in four classes with the Irish Sport Horses, Camblin (Olympic Lux x Cummer Beauty) and Cos I Can (Olympic Lux x Carel View Lass). Fellow Irish rider, Capt. David O'Brien enjoyed success at the same show with Kiltoom (Cajetano x Ashley Green), Mo Chroi (Cruising x Into The Blue) and Drummiler Lough (Heartbreaker x Pearl Diver).

THE SECOND leg of Horse Sport Ireland’s Irish Sport Horse Studbook Show Jumping Series 2011 took place this weekend at Barnadown. With €10,000 in prize money on offer for these 5 year old and 6/7 year old classes, competition was fierce at the Wexford venue.

IRISH Sport Horses won 12 classes thoughout the UK and USA over the weekend. At the CCI**** event at Rolex Kentucky Oliver Townend (GB) rode Sonas Rovatio (ISH) into 6th Place. Pippa Funnell (GB) and Billy Landretti (ISH) won the advanced section M at Withington Manor One Day Event in Gloustershire.

Irish Sport Horses clocked up some impressive results on the international showjumping circuit over the weekend. In Lummen, Belgium, Shane Breen and Camblin (Olympic Lux x Cummer Beauty), were part of the Irish team that finished in third place in the Nations Cup competition. THREE Irish-bred horses finished in the top 20 at at the Rolex four-star event at Kentucky after the final show jumping phase last night (Sunday). The leading Irish bred horse was ODT Sonas Rovatio (ISH) ridden by Ollie Townend, who placed sixth, while full Irish draught Tipperary Liadhnan (ISH) finished in 16th, ridden by the USA’s Kim Steverson.

IRISH Sport Horses Imperial Cavalier and Lenamore finished 3rd and 6th respectively at Badminton Horse Trials over the weekend. Mary King added 1.6 time penalties to her dressage score of 44.2, while 19 year old Lenamore and Caroline Powell added nothing to complete on their dressage score of 47.2.

THE FIRST leg of Horse Sport Ireland’s Irish Sport Horse Studbook Show Jumping Series 2011 took place this weekend at the Horseware Louth County Show. With €10,000 in prize money on offer for these 5 year old and 6/7 year old classes, competition was fierce at the Dromiskin venue.

THE National Young Breeders Competition, a joint project between Teagasc and Horse Sport Ireland, took place at Kildalton College, yesterday (Tuesday) 19th April. The competition was kindly sponsored by Pegus Horse Feeds and attracted forty five competitors between the ages of 14 and 25 years
