FIRST TWO DAYS OF 2013 SILVER SPURS ASSESSMENT
THE Silver Spurs is an annual competition, run by Dressage Ireland with the support of Horse Sport Ireland, which aims to develop and reward talented young riders who have potential to progress in their chosen discipline. The competition begins with a series of assessment days, where competitors take part in a group lesson with the assessor.

DRESSAGE Ireland announced this week that Anne Cahill was its new chairman. Anne was appointed at a board meeting on 12 February. She is replacing Robert McCormick, who resigned in November 2012.

A NUMBER of major changes are being introduced to this year's National Dressage Championships. They include changes to the structure of the team championship while introducing a qualification system for the individual championships.

OLYMPICS - IRELAND'S MERVELDT NARROWLY MISSES OUT ON DRESSAGE GRAND PRIX SPECIAL

ANNA Merveldt, Ireland's Olympic dressage rider, has narrowly missed out on qualifying for the Grand Prix Special at Greenwich Park. Thirty-two riders qualified for the Grand Prix Special from the 50 starters but Merveldt ended up 33rd.

IRELAND'S nominated Olympic dressage rider, Anna Merveldt, scored 72.575 per cent at the prestigious five-star CDI in Aachen on Sunday.

HORSE Sport Ireland has confirmed that it will nominate Anna Merveldt and Coryolano to represent Ireland in dressage at the Olympic Games in London. Earlier this week the FEI, the International governing body for equestrian sport, confirmed that Ireland had secured a place in dressage at the games.

IRELAND LOOKS ASSURED OF OLYMPIC DRESSAGE PLACE

IT NOW appears certain that Ireland will have a dressage rider at the Olympic Games in London. Originally Ireland had secured the second place on the reserve list through the performances of Anna Merveldt and Coryalano during the qualification period.

HORSE Sport Ireland has announced the selection for the Para Equestrian Nations' Cup in Moorsele, Belgium, this week. Four riders from the squad of five will be selected by Team Manager Dara Kearney to make up the Irish team.
