FEARON STEPS DOWN AS PONY SHOW JUMPING COACH AND CHEF d'EQUIPE

HORSE Sport Ireland has confirmed that Ian Fearon will step down as Coach and Chef d'Equipe of Ireland's pony show jumping team. However he will continue to work as a coach on Horse Sport Ireland's Eventing High Performance Programmes.

HORSE SPORT IRELAND SECURES SKILLNET FUNDING

HORSE Sport Ireland has announced that the Equestrian Skillnet has secured a grant of 90,000 euro from Skillnets Ltd to run subsidised training programmes for people involved in the Sport Horse Industry in Ireland. Horse Sport Ireland chairman Joe Walsh said he was pleased that the funding had been secured.

HORSE VET COURSE

Horse Vet Course - a practical course for horse owners of all discplines and experience who want to know more about their horse.  Next course commences Wed 14th April at Tattersalls, Co. Teagasc Equine Spring Course in the Care and Management of the Broodmare.

TEAGASC HORSEMANSHIP SKILLS COURSE

This course is being run by Teagasc in Maryville Equestrian Centre, Carrigaline, Co. Cork starting on Thursday 4th March and will run for 10 consecutive weeks.

PONY CHAMPIONSHIP INFORMATION DAY

HORSE Sport Ireland and Show Jumping Ireland held an information day in Cavan Equestrian centre on Tuesday for riders and their parents who were interested in going forward for selection for next year’s European Championships. Over 30 riders turned out on the day which was opened by Mark Bolger from HSI who set out HSI's High Performance structures for 2010.
