TEAGASC EQUINE SPRING COURSE

Teagasc Equine Spring Course in the Care and Management of the Broodmare.

TEAGASC HORSEMANSHIP SKILLS COURSE

This course is being run by Teagasc in Maryville Equestrian Centre, Carrigaline, Co. Cork starting on Thursday 4th March and will run for 10 consecutive weeks.

PONY CHAMPIONSHIP INFORMATION DAY

HORSE Sport Ireland and Show Jumping Ireland held an information day in Cavan Equestrian centre on Tuesday for riders and their parents who were interested in going forward for selection for next year’s European Championships. Over 30 riders turned out on the day which was opened by Mark Bolger from HSI who set out HSI's High Performance structures for 2010.

Equestrian Skillnet Course Walk With William Fox Pitt

The Equestrian Skillnet is very pleased to announce a Course Walk with top British Event Rider William Fox Pitt. This event will take place at Tattersalls Ireland, Co. Meath this Thursday evening. To be eligible to attend you must have completed or be currently enrolled in an Equestrian Skillnet training programme. William Fox Pitt has had a number of great eventing successes to date, including wins at Badminton, Burghley, Blenheim, Branham & Gatcombe. In 2008, he was a member of the Bronze Medal team at the Beijing Olympics, winner of the HSBC FEI Classics and the UK's leading rider. So far this year he has been placed 2nd & 5th at Badminton CCI**** and 6th at Lexington CCI****. Horse Sport Ireland Receives Fetac Approval

23/02/09 HORSE Sport Ireland (HSI) has been approved as a registered provider by the Further Education and Training Awards Council (FETAC). As a result of this recognition Horse Sport Ireland will be able to offer programmes leading to FETAC awards under the National Framework of Qualifications. As the national awarding body for further education and training in Ireland, the Further Education and Training Awards Council (FETAC) gives people the opportunity to gain formal recognition for learning carried out on validated programmes delivered by approved providers. Horse Sport Chairman Joe Walsh said today (Monday): "Becoming an approved provider is a big task and this represents a major step forward for Horse Sport Ireland. I want to congratulate Alison Corbally and her staff in the Education Department of Horse Sport Ireland for carrying out all of the work required in such a short space of time." Horse Sport Ireland's Education and Training Manager Alison Corbally added: "Our objective is to provide people across the Equestrian sector with the opportunities to gain recognised qualifications. This exciting development will give people with years of practical experience the opportunity to up-skill from within the industry."

New Course Launched By Equestrian Skillnet

13.02.09 - The Equestrian Skillnet is proud to announce the launch of a brand new training course - Introduction to Cross Country Design. This one day seminar will be held at Gurteen College on March 8th and will be delivered by experienced course designers Mr Tony Ennis, chairman of the Association of Irish Riding Clubs and Mr John Swanton, former chairman of Eventing Ireland.
