IRISH BRED HORSES DOMINATE FOUR-STAR LUHMUHLEN

THREE Irish-bred horses finished in the top five at the prestigious four-star show in Luhmuhlen, Germany this afternoon, with the Irish Sport Horse gelding 'Tankers Town' claiming the overall trophy. Cork's Patricia Ryan finished in 14th on 'Fernhill Clover Mist' and husband Michael Ryan in 17th with 'Ballylynch Adventure'.

ELLIOT HIGHLIGHTS IMPORTANCE OF GERMAN FOUR-STAR FOR WORLD EQUESTRIAN GAMES SELECTION

TEAM Ireland Equestrian’s Eventing High Performance Manager Ginny Elliot will be in Luhmuhlen, Germany this weekend along with dressage and show jumping coaches Ferdi Eilberg and Michael Quirke to work with the Irish riders who are competing there. The event is one of only five four-star events in the world.

BRITISH competitors held the top four places after the dressage phase at Tattersalls World Cup Qualifier in Co. Meath this evening, but the leading horse is the Irish-bred grey gelding 'Ashdale Cruise Master', ridden by Britain's Oliver Townend.

IRISH FOURTH AND FIFTH AT THREE-STAR CHATSWORTH

IRELAND claimed two top five places at the conclusion of Chatsworth's three-star event in England today (Sunday). Riding the Enniscorthy-bred bay gelding 'The Only One', Jayne Doherty took fourth place, while Aoife Clarke was close behind in fifth on another Irish-bred, 'Master Crusoe'.

BALLINDENISK RETURNS TO CALENDAR AFTER 11 YEAR BREAK

AFTER a break of 11 years Ballindenisk in Co. Cork will be hosting a CCI in September 2010 to replace the sad loss of the Necarne event in Co. Fermanagh. In addition to the CCI**/* and CCNP** classes that Necarne ran for 15 years, Ballindenisk will be hosting a CCI*** class.
