PENNSYLVANIA-based Irish rider James Dwyer finished fifth in the Para Dressage World Championships in Kentucky, USA today (Wednesday).

WITH the World Equestrian Games moving towards their individual finals in the USA this weekend, other Irish riders are competing at shows throughout Europe as the autumn season gathers pace.

THIRTEENTH after the second day of jumping at the World Equestrian Games, Cork's Billy Twomey continued with his charge up the rankings in Kentucky last night (Wednesday), when a single time fault on Sue Davies's mare 'Tinka's' Serenade' left him in eighth place of the world's top riders.

IRELAND failed to make it through to the final of the Team Show Jumping World Championships at Kentucky tonight, finishing 12th of 27 teams, with a 10th place the minimum needed for qualification, but two Irish riders are now in the world top 20.
