HORSE Sport Ireland has confirmed the Children on Horses/Juniors/Young Riders Show Jumping squad for the 2011 European Championships in Comporta, Portugal July 4-10.

BREEN RUNNER-UP IN NETHERLANDS GRAND PRIX
FOUR Dutch riders finished in the top five at today's (Monday) Grand Prix at De Steeg in the Netherlands, but Ireland was once again in the ribbons at the four-star show, with a second place from Shane Breen and Carmel Ryan's Carthago Z stallion 'Carmena Z'.

HUGHES SECOND IN PORTUGUESE GRAND PRIX

KILKENNY-born Marion Hughes continued her run of good form in Portugal when she finished second in the Grand Prix at the three-star show in Portimao today (Sunday).

BREEN WINS SUNDAY'S DUTCH JUMP OFF

DUTCH champion Albert Zoer has now been beaten into second place on two successive evenings by Irish riders at the four-star show in De Steeg, the Netherlands. Today (Sunday) it was Tipperary's Shane Breen who stole Zoer's thunder in front of his home crowd in the feature jump-off class.

KURTEN FIRST, LENNON THIRD IN DUTCH JUMP-OFF

JESSICA Kurten picked up Ireland's first win at this week's four star show at De Steeg in the Netherlands when snatching victory by the narrowest of margins in tonight's (Saturday) big jump-off class.

LYNCH FIFTH IN FRENCH GLOBAL CHAMPIONS GRAND PRIX

A SINGLE mistake in the first round of the Global Champions Tour Grand Prix at Cannes, France tonight (Saturday) hampered Tipperary's Denis Lynch in his attempt to repeat fellow Irish rider Billy Twomey's victory in the second leg of the series at Valencia last month.

LYNCH RUNNER-UP IN CANNES FEATURE CLASS

TIPPERARY'S Denis Lynch took the runner-up place in tonight's (Friday) Rolex-ranked feature class at the five-star show in Cannes, France, piloting the Calvaro Z gelding 'Night Train', previously the ride of both former world champion Rodrigo Pessoa and Ireland's Darragh Kerins.

O'BRIEN WINS MULLINGAR GRAND PRIX

CAPTAIN David O'Brien steered the Minister for Defence's Royal Concorde gelding 'Annestown' to victory in the third round of the TRM/ShowjumpingIreland Premier Series at the Mullingar two-star International Horse Show today (Monday).

LIBERTINA RETIRED AT MULLINGAR SHOW

THE celebrated show jumping mare Libertina, owned by Lady Georgina Forbes, was officially retired at Mullingar Show at the weekend. Libertina, with Irish rider Jessica Kurten aboard, had been victorious in a string of top-ranked competitions over a period of some years.
