IRELAND FINISH EQUAL SEVENTH IN NETHERLANDS NATIONS' CUP
IN A NATIONS' Cup full of upsets, with strong resurgences by lower ranked Meydan superleague teams USA and the Netherlands, Ireland finished equal seventh with Switzerland at Rotterdam this afternoon (Friday).

GREENE TAKES RUNNER-UP PLACE IN FINNISH GRAND PRIX
LIMERICK'S Joan Greene claimed the runner-up spot at Ypaja's Grand Prix in Finland this evening (Friday) with Tim O'Shea's chestnut mare 'Biscaya d'Eversem'. Greene, who took an identical place with the mare at Balmoral's Grand Prix in Belfast last month, was one of just three to register a double clear round from a starting field of 32.

O'BRIEN WINS AT ROTTERDAM AHEAD OF FRIDAY'S NATIONS' CUP

IRISH confidence received a lift in Rotterdam tonight (Thursday) ahead of Friday's Nations' Cup clash when team member Capt. David O'Brien took a decisive victory in the two-phase competition at the Dutch five-star show.

HORSE SPORT IRELAND CONFIRMS SQUADS FOR FINLAND AND NORWAY NATIONS CUPS

HORSE Sport Ireland has confirmed the squads that will represent Ireland in the Nations' Cup of Finland and Norway. These Nations' Cups are not part of the Meydan Superleague and of the squad of five riders heading to Norway, four will all be making their Nations' Cup debuts.

LENNON EQUAL SECOND IN DUTCH SIX-BAR

IRELAND'S former World Show Jumping Champion Dermott Lennon finished equal second in today's (Saturday) Six Bar competition at the four-star De Steeg show in the Netherlands. Riding his wife Sandra's gelding 'Vampire', Lennon shared the runner-up prize money with three other riders.

KURTEN THIRD IN CANNES CHAMPIONS TOUR GRAND PRIX

FIGHTING through to the third round jump-off in the gruelling Global Champions Tour Grand Prix at Cannes, France tonight (Saturday) Ireland's Jessica Kurten disappointingly took out the very last fence for four faults, but finished in third place of 43 starters.

KURTEN, LYNCH AND LENNON TO MAKE FIRST 2010 SUPERLEAGUE APPEARANCES IN ROTTERDAM

TEAM Ireland Equestrian's Senior Show Jumping Manager Robert Splaine has named his squad for the Nations' Cup in Rotterdam, which sees Ireland's two top-ranked riders, Jessica Kurten and Denis Lynch, together with former world champion Dermott Lennon, make their first 2010 Meydan Superleague appearances.

BREEN THIRD IN NETHERLANDS JUMP OFF

SHANE Breen kept up Ireland's European results average this afternoon (Friday) with a third place in the jump-off class at De Steeg in the Netherlands. The Tipperary-born rider recorded one of the competition's six double clear rounds.

TWOMEY RUNNER-UP IN FRENCH SPEED CLASS

BILLY Twomey tonight (Friday) delivered another top three place for Ireland at the five-star show in Cannes, France when finishing as runner-up to France's European Champion Kevin Staut in the speed class. Twomey added his ribbons to Jessica Kurten's Thursday night win in the Cannes feature jump-off class.
