MULLINGAR SHOW TO FEATURE 60,000 EURO PRIZE POT THIS WEEKEND
AWARD-winning Mullingar Show brings a three-day festival to the midlands from Saturday, with an international CSI2* and 60,000 euro in prize money. The six international classes will include a 20,000 euro Grand Prix, and there will also be 50 national classes, as well as Horse Sport Ireland Studbook classes.

RYAN BEST OF IRISH AT TATTERSALLS WORLD CUP QUALIFIER

BANDON-based Michael Ryan was best of the Irish at the close of the hotly-contested Eventing World Cup Qualifier at Tattersalls, Co. Meath today (Sunday), claiming a third place with the Irish-bred 'Ballylynch Adventure'.

IRELAND JOINT FOURTH IN PORTUGUESE NATIONS' CUP

SITTING in third place at the halfway mark, Ireland's show jumping team at the four star Portuguese Nations' Cup in Lisbon today (Sunday) slipped marginally to joint fourth of 12 teams after the final round. And Tipperary-born Shane Breen celebrated the third consecutive double clear round of his first three Nations' Cups of 2010.

IRELAND FINISHES EQUAL THIRD IN ROME NATIONS' CUP

THE IRISH show jumping team finished equal third of 11 teams at the Meydan Superleague Nations' Cup in Rome today (Friday) on a total of 12 faults. The team was Billy Twomey, Cameron Hanley, Cian O'Connor and Darragh Kenny, with Twomey, Hanley and O'Connor all delivering a clear round apiece to help Ireland to its third place, which it shared with Spain.

LYNCH WINS JUMP OFF AT NORTEN HARDENBERG

CONTINUING his recent run of good form, Tipperary's Denis Lynch chalked up another victory today (Saturday) when he won the big jump-off class at Norten Hardenburg in Germany with Flaminia Straumann's 15 year-old bay gelding 'Lacroix'.

SPLAINE CONFIRMS TEAM FOR FRIDAY'S ROME NATIONS' CUP CLASH

IRELAND'S show jumping manager Robert Splaine has confirmed his team of four who will compete in the second leg of the Meydan Nations' Cup Superleague in Rome, Italy today (Friday). Ireland has been drawn third to jump of 11 teams, which includes the Italian home team, who are not part of the Meydan series.

HORSE SPORT IRELAND CONFIRMS INITIAL EURO PONY SQUAD

HORSE Sport Ireland has confirmed the initial squad for the Pony European Championships which will take place in Bishop Burton in the UK from July 30th to August 1st 2010. he squad was selected following trials which took place over the last two weekends in Barnadown and Cavan.

TOP TENS FOR IRELAND ON ROME OPENING DAY

IRISH riders took a fair share of the prize money in the two opening competitions at Rome's big five-star show today (Thursday). With Rome's signature event, the Italian Nations' Cup, looming tomorrow, Irish squad members were prominent in today's placings.

LYNCH CLAIMS GERMAN GRAND PRIX VICTORY

IRELAND'S Denis Lynch claimed a 23,000 euro victory in this afternoon's (Monday) German Grand Prix at Wiesbaden, narrowly beating Germany's World No. 2 Marcus Ehning to the prize. Thirty-four year-old Lynch had flown from the Global Champions Tour Show at Turin in Italy to make sure he could be eligible for the German competition.
