HSI CHIPPISON FINAL ROUND ON SUNDAY

THE FINAL round of the HSI Chippison Spring Tour will take place in Coilog, Co. Kildare, this Sunday (April 18). At present John Floody leads the league with 44 points followed by Ger O’Neill on 32 points and Cian O’Connor on 31 points.

LENNON GOES THROUGH TO LAST LEG OF ROLEX WORLD CUP FINAL

FORTY year-old Co. Down rider Dermott Lennon will be the sole Irish representative in Sunday's third leg of the Rolex FEI World Cup Final, when the top 28 riders now qualified at Geneva, Switzerland bid for the World Cup trophy.

BANBRIDGE-born Dermott Lennon was best of the Irish after the first round of the Rolex FEI World Cup Final in Geneva, Switzerland tonight (Thursday), finishing on a clear round in 13th place with Woods Rosbotham's talented gelding 'Hallmark Elite'.

THOUGH the Rolex FEI World Cup Final at Geneva will dominate the weekend's equestrian action from today (Thursday), Irish riders line out in force at eight other venues throughout the world. At Geneva, Co. Down-based former World Champion Dermott Lennon and US-based Offaly rider Darragh Kenny will represent Ireland in the World Cup Final.

IRELAND'S Jessica Kurten will not now be competing in the Rolex FEI World Cup Final in Geneva, Switzerland this weekend, following a fall from a horse at her yard in Germany at the end of last week.

MAYO-born Cameron Hanley produced a fifth place with the Baloubet de Rouet gelding 'Southwind VDL' in this afternoon's (Sunday) Arezzo Grand Prix in Italy, one of six through to the jump-off from a starting field of 38.

MEATH'S John Floody set his sights firmly on the HSI Chippison Spring Tour title when finishing first in the penultimate leg of the series in Clare Equestrian Centre, Co. Clare today (Sunday) with Michael Smith's Irish-bred gelding 'Larkhill Cruiser'.

YOUNG RIDER HARRISON WINS MULLINGAR HSI CHIPPISON GRAND PRIX

EIGHTEEN year-old Robert Harrison cut through a substantial field of 56 starters to win the HSI Chippison Grand Prix at Mullingar Equestrian Centre, Co. Westmeath tonight (Saturday). Piloting his father Davids 'Unlimited Lady', Harrison was one of just eight to make it through to the jump-off on Tom Holden's course.

TWOMEY JUMPS TO FOURTH IN BRITISH OPEN FINAL

CORK'S Billy Twomey jumped up the rankings of the British Open Show Jumping Championship tonight (Saturday) when he placed fourth in the hard-fought final with Sue Davies's bay stallion 'Je t'Aime Flamenco'. Twomey's performance tonight with eleven penalties on the board meant he overtook Shane Breen, who dropped to seventh overall.

LENNON AND CONDON TAKE BEST IRISH SCORES AT BIRMINGHAM

IT WAS Co. Down's Dermott Lennon who turned in the best Irish score of the day with a second place in the Accumulator competition at Birmingham, England this afternoon (Friday) with Woods Rosbotham's 'Hallmark Elite'. The 40 year-old former World Champion earned 5,000 euro for his runner-up effort, losing out to Britain's Guy Williams by just under two seconds.
