IRELAND'S show jumping team finished ninth in the final of the European Championships at Madrid, Spain, this evening but team member Billy Twomey qualified for Sunday's Individual Final by finishing in the top 25.

IRELAND’S show jumpers could be in medal contention at the London Olympics - if they qualify at this week's European Championships. The championships, which begin tomorrow (Tuesday) in Madrid, represent the last chance for Ireland to qualify a team for the 2012 Olympic Games.

IRELAND'S show jumping team finished sixth in the five-star Nations' Cup at Gijon, Spain this afternoon (Saturday). Gijon, which is part of the FEI Promotional League of Nations' Cups, saw ten teams competing, but with Ireland not seeking points outside its Superleague status.
