IN A thrilling jump-off at the World Cup competition in Bordeaux, France tonight (Saturday) Tipperary's Denis Lynch took fourth place with his own stallion Contifex, maintaining his third place overall in the World Cup rankings, but narrowing the gap with the leader.

Lynch, who will also strengthen his number two position in the Olympic rankings with tonight's result, was one of ten through to the jump-off at the French five-star venue, but although eighth to jump could not shake the three leaders who had set blistering speeds just before him.
