IRELAND's Shane Breen racked up his second Hickstead victory this evening (Saturday) when he won the Speed Derby with Pisarenko Anatolyi's chestnut mare 'Magic Fox', adding a further 6,500 to his prize winnings at the four-star show.
The 36 year-old Tipperary rider, who took first place in the Hickstead Derby Qualifier on Thursday with the same horse, today had almost four seconds in hand at the finish over British challenger Harriet Nuttall aboard the Irish-bred Cougar gelding 'Highland Cruiser II'.
Seventeen year-old Kenneth Graham was next best of the Irish in fourth place with another Irish-bred mount, the Don Juan de la Bouverie mare 'Lenamore Donatella', while Trevor Breen, Shane's younger brother, placed eighth with yet another Irish-bred horse, the Quick Star gelding 'Beer Hunter'.
The famous Hickstead Derby takes place at the West Sussex showgrounds on Sunday afternoon.
