(19 Mar 2011)

IRELAND'S Breen family took the top three places in this evening's (Saturday) speed class at the four-star show in Comporta, Portugal, competing in a 57-strong field.

Tipperary-born Shane further cemented the Breen dominance by claiming the winner's prize of 4,600 euro together with the runner-up prize of 3,680 euro. Younger brother Trevor took third place and prize money of 3,200 euro.

Thirty six year-old Shane, riding Ronan Tynan's Irish-bred stallion 'Warrenstown You 2' stopped the clock at 62 seconds, a comfortable four seconds ahead of the time achieved by his other Irish-bred stallion, the 10 year-old 'Camblin'.

Trevor, 32, placed Karen Swann's 'Adventure de Kannan' in third, just under a second slower than Shane's runner-up time.
