FOLEY WINS FRENCH GRAND PRIX AT FONTAINEBLEAU

(18 Apr 2010)

CLARE'S Tom Foley added to his Fontainebleau laurels this afternoon (Sunday) with a win in the CSIOP Grand Prix with 'Dibidoe', the same pony who had delivered a double clear round for the 14 year-old on Saturday to help Ireland win the French Nations' Cup.

A fast double clear from Foley pipped French challenger Francois Denis by just over four seconds in the jump-off, while Kate McDonagh and the Irish-bred 'Bertas Clover' slotted into fourth.

Tim McDonagh was best of the Irish in the CSIP Grand Prix, delivering a third place on the Irish-bred 'Carrenhill Clover', while Cormac Hanley arrived in fifth place with another Irish-bred, 'European Clover'.

Tim's sister Kate won the Six Year-Old Grand Prix with 'Some Boy', and Matt Garrigan made it a double when he won the Seven Year-Old Grand Prix on 'Dr. Spot'.
