HANLEY FIFTH IN AREZZO GRAND PRIX

(11 Apr 2010)

MAYO-born Cameron Hanley produced a fifth place with the Baloubet de Rouet gelding 'Southwind VDL' in this afternoon's (Sunday) Arezzo Grand Prix in Italy.

One of just six through to the jump-off from a starting field of 38, the 36 year-old German-based rider produced one of five double clear rounds to take home a prize purse of 5350 euro, but was unable to equal the finishing speed of Italy's winner, Gianni Govoni, who stopped the clock just over four seconds faster to claim the 25,000 euro Grand Prix prize.

In eleventh today was Ireland's Niall Talbot with the 16 year-old mare 'Tequi d'I CH', who incurred four faults in the first round, but was fast enough to earn her rider 750 euro for the place.
