HANLEY FINISHES FOURTH IN AREZZO GRAND PRIX

(10 Apr 2011)

MAYO's Cameron Hanley finished in fourth place at today's Grand Prix in Arezzo, Italy, two time faults denying him the winner's prize of 12,000 euro.

The 37 year-old, riding the 12 year-old chestnut gelding 'Southwind VDL', left all the poles standing in his first round, but collected a time fault. However, he was one of 15 to go through to the second round at the three-star show, and though jumping clear again, fell foul of the clock once more.

However, his two faults yielded the fourth place prize of 4,400 euro and qualifying points for the 2011 European Championship.

The Grand Prix was won by the Ukraine's Cassio Rivetti and 'Verdi', the only combination to collect zero faults in both rounds.
