IRISH pony riders kept up their sparkling form at the international show in Fontainebleau, France today (Saturday), with a win and a third place in the Derby competition, and a victory in the Seven Year-Old class.
Following Friday's tally of three wins and a domination of the top ten places in many classes, it was 12 yr-old Tim McDonagh from Galway - the youngest of the Irish contingent - who today triumphed in the Derby with 'Diego Flow', while Roisin Kenny slotted the Irish-bred 'Blessington Grange Mist' into third.
John Nolan won the Seven Year-Old competition on the Connemara Pony 'Woodfield Rinrush' with Meadbh Downey in third on the Irish-bred 'Kilcloghan DG Clover'. Irish riders also accounted for four more of the top ten places.
Cormac Hanley was third with the Irish-bred 'Indian Inspired' in the CSIP class, while Tom Foley took the runner-up spot in the CSIOP speed competition on 'Crown Jewel', with Kate McDonagh and the Irish-bred 'Dans Clover' in fourth.
The Fontainebleau Nations' Cup is due to finish later this afternoon.
