KURTEN FIRST, LENNON THIRD IN DUTCH JUMP-OFF

(11 Jun 2011)

JESSICA Kurten picked up Ireland's first win at this week's four star show at De Steeg in the Netherlands when snatching victory by the narrowest of margins in tonight's (Saturday) big jump-off class.

The Antrim-born rider, on the 10 year-old stallion 'VDL Harley', was just a tenth of a second faster in the 11 horse jump-off than local hero Albert Zoer and the talented Calvados gelding 'Sam', enough to ensure collection of the 5750 euro first prize.

Former World Champion, Co. Down's Dermott Lennon, took third place tonight on his wife Sandra's bay gelding 'Vampire'.
