KURTEN TAKES ANOTHER TOP TEN PLACE AT SPANISH FIVE STAR SHOW

(12 Feb 2011)

JESSICA Kurten added a third consecutive top ten placing to her tally at Spain's five star World Cup show in Vigo this evening (Saturday).

With a third place in Friday's opening competition, and a sixth last night in the feature class, the 41 year-old Antrim rider added a further 2,000 euro to her prize money haul when finishing fifth in the speed class tonight aboard Heinrich Huppe's bay gelding 'Lektor 35'.

Kurten was just over four seconds adrift of Swiss winner Steve Guerdat, on the ten year-old Dutch-bred stallion 'Urgent'.

Tipperary's Denis Lynch, the only other Irish rider at the show, took victory in Friday's opening class on 'Tarpan', and both riders will now be gearing up for Vigo's signature World Cup competition, which takes place later tonight.
