A DECISIVE gap of almost 14 seconds secured Jessica Kurten a susbstantial victory in this afternoon's (Friday) accumulator competition at the five-star show in Hamburg Germany with Lady Georgina Forbes's Dollar Du Murier mare 'Myrtille Paulois'.
With 65 points on the board the Antrim-born rider encountered a strong German challenge for the trophy, but prevailed on speed, leaving runner-up Hergen Forkert trailing by a massive 13.6 seconds, and third-placed Marcus Ehing behind by 17 seconds.
Earlier, Cork's Billy Twomey took a tenth place in Hamburg's Spring Derby Qualifier with 'Blue Thunder'.
The Hamburg Global Champions Tour Grand Prix on Saturday afternoon sees Kurten and Twomey joined by fellow Irish riders Denis Lynch and Cian O'Connor in a bid for a share of the 285,000 euro prize money on offer.
