OMAGH, Co. Tyrone-based Edward Little was best of the Irish in this evening's (Sunday) four-star Grand Prix at Comporta, Portugal, finishing fourth with David Prentice's ten year-old grey Dutch-bred gelding 'Kalvinretto'.
But the 30 year-old Irishman could not break the French stranglehold at the top of the table, with Olivier Guillon claiming the 7,000 euro first prize with 'Lord de Thieze', and fellow-countrymen Olivier Desutter and Regis Villain taking second and third places respectively. French riders also accounted for three other top ten places.
However, Little was one of just four riders to achieve a double clear round in the Grand Prix, and went away from the competition 4,200 euro richer.
