DENIS Lynch and Jessica Kurten picked up over 11,000 euro between them when finishing first and second in this evening's (Thursday) Two Phase competition at the five-star World Cup in Mechelen, Belgium.
Lynch was the faster of the Irish duo, stopping the clock with Thomas Straumann's Calvaro Z gelding Night Train half a second ahead of Kurten, who was piloting APR Brother Services's grey gelding API Largo.
The Tipperary rider collected 6,500 euro for his victory, while Antrim-born Kurten picked up 5,000 euro.
However, the prize money becomes even bigger later tonight when the Belgian Grand Prix yields a total of 50,000 euro, and culminates in Friday's World Cup class, where rewards include a 25,000 euro car and 100,000 euro in cash.
