DENIS Lynch concluded a good week for the Irish at Vigo's five-star show in Spain tonight (Sunday) when finishing fifth in the final competition, the Concello de Vigo Grand Prix.
Piloting Thomas Straumann's bay gelding 'Abbervail van het Dingeshof', the Tipperary rider was one of eight through to the jump-off round, a clear round earning him 12,000 euro in prize money, though finishing four seconds shy of the time set by German winner Phillip Westhaupt with the bay stallion 'Catoki'.
Earlier in the day Jessica Kurten added to her significant tally of top ten places at Vigo with a third in the two phase competition on the mare 'Fashion'. This was Kurten's fourth time in the ribbons since Friday, while Lynch won the opening class on 'Tarpan'.
