TIPPERARY'S Denis Lynch added to this weekend's Irish show jumping ribbons when finishing second in this evening's (Sunday) Grand Prix at Frankfurt's four-star show in Germany.
The 34 year-old, piloting Thomas Straumann's gelding 'Lantinus', was beaten to the 30,000 euro winner's prize by last man in, Germany's Janne-Friederike Meyer, but did see off a challenge from another German ace, former World number one Ludger Beerbaum, who finished in third.
Lynch was sixth in Saturday night's Frankfurt Winning Round competition, and his runner-up spot this evening added to a very successful weekend for Irish show jumpers, with Jessica Kurten taking second place at the five-star Grand Prix at la Coruna in Spain as well as a win in Friday's feature class, Billy Twomey placing second in Olympia's World Cup competition tonight, with Cian O'Connor taking two outright victories at the same venue over the last three days.
