TIPPERARY'S Denis Lynch collected 12,000 euro for his third place at the four-star Grand Prix in Munich, Germany, this afternoon (Sunday), aboard Thomas Straumann's Belgian-bred gelding 'Abbervail van het Dingeshof'.
Thirty four year-old Lynch was one of ten through to the second round at Munich, but could not catch Germany's former Olympic champion Marcus Ehning, who in a tight finish stopped the clock just a fifth of a second ahead of the Tipperary rider and took the 25,000 euro Grand Prix prize.
In the earlier Two Phase competition at the German show today Lynch fielded another of Straumann's horses, the bay gelding 'Upsilon d'Ocquier', and claimed another third place on two clear rounds.
