A VICTORY by Tipperary's Denis Lynch at the five-star show in Zurich tonight (Saturday) kept his country on a roll, with three Irish wins now recorded in two days of competition at the Swiss World Cup venue.
Riding Thomas Straumann's 16 year-old bay gelding 'Lacroix', Lynch collected almost 8,000 euro by stopping the clock just under a second faster than fellow Irish rider Billy Twomey and the chestnut stallion 'Romanov', who then took the runner-up spot, while Ireland's other entrant in the class, Jessica Kurten, claimed seventh place on Roy Kerstin's gelding 'Bon Giorno'.
Cork-born Twomey won the Two Phase competition earlier today with the mare 'Tinka's Serenade' and on Friday took the winner's laurels in the Rolex Grand Prix, riding the same horse. Denis Lynch also placed second today in the Two Phase competition, with 'Abbervail van het Dingeshof'.
