Minister for Sport, Michael Ring, was at Claremorris this week to meet the Connacht members of Team Ireland Equestrian's European Under 14 Team show jumping Gold Medallists.

Pictured is Minister Ring with Tim Mc Donagh, Galway (left) and Cormac Hanley, Mayo (right). Ireland's Under 14 show jumping Team won the goldmedal in Portugal recently, which was Ireland's first team gold medal at underage level since 1984. The other members of the team were Kerry Taggert (Fermanagh), Tommy Harty (Waterford) and Hannah Smyth (Tyrone). Horse Sport Ireland's Team Manager was Comdt. John Ledingham.
