MEATH-based Cian O'Connor chalked up a further Grand Prix top five place in the Spanish Sunshine Tour tonight (Friday), adding to his tally of notable results at the three-star venue.
Riding the Co. Antrim-bred Cruising gelding 'Larkhill Cruiser', the 31 year-old Irishman posted the second-fastest time in the 13 horse jump-off, but a single pole down denied him a chance at the 7,000 euro first prize, and he settled for fifth place overall.
The winner's laurels went instead to Britain's Daniel Mosely and 'Billy Grand', who recorded one of just two double-clear rounds in the competition.
O'Connor has now had two thirds, a second and a fifth place in the Sunshine Tour Grands Prix at Vejer de la Frontera over the last four weeks.
